SET-listed retail and property developer, Central Pattana Plc, teams up with partners, investing 1 billion baht to launch its Mid-Year sale campaign, stimulating midyear spending and tourism.

This year, its Grand Grand Sale 2026 is held from 29 May 2026 to 19 July 2026 by tapping into the global “sport culture" trend—where sports cheering and shopping share the same excitement, competition, and thrill of winning the deal of the year. Its campaign is also designed for "smart consumers" of all generations, with Lena & Miu joining to drive emotional engagement with Gen Z, covering over 3,000 branches of Central shopping centers, department stores, and Central Retail stores across the country and Esplanade Ratchada.

“Throughout the past 17 years, Central Pattana has continuously promoted Thailand’s mid-year shopping season, which has evolved from a mid-year sale campaign into a national shopping extravaganza that grows larger every year. We see the ‘Mid-Year Sale’ as a crucial mechanism to create a good vibe for shopping and help boost economic vibrancy during the middle of the year,’’ Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Chief Marketing Officer for Central Pattana Plc, said.

The company plans to host 300 events during its grand sale campaign across Central shopping centers and Central Department Stores and nationwide with discounts of up to 80%.

Apart from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, joining in this campaign with Central Pattana also includes Central Group businesses led by Central Department Store, Robinson Department Store, Supersports, Tops, Power Buy, and other private partners from hospitals and cinemas to credit cards, totaling over 30,000 brands and 13,000 leading stores.

"We have continually supported the government's economic stimulus measures, and our mid-year sale campaign is similar to others in global cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia; those use shopping festivals to stimulate their economies and tourism," Dr. Nattakit said.

"With the extensive network of shopping centers, department stores, and retail stores, covering every region, both major cities and key tourist destinations, it helps create an active vibe for shopping and tourism nationwide, generating increased money circulation and economic vibrancy, highlighting Thailand’s potential as a global shopping destination," he said.

Rvisra Chirathivat, Chief Marketing Officer of Central Retail Department Store, said that the mid-year period is a crucial window for the retail sector, a time when brands actively stimulate consumer spending and inject vibrant energy into the market.

"For Central Department Store and Robinson Department Store, we are co-hosting 'Grand Grand Sale' for the 17th consecutive year to deliver exceptional value and experiences that truly resonate with our customers. A major highlight this year is our capitalization on the rapidly growing 'sport culture' trend. Driven by consumer behaviors shifted toward health-consciousness, self-care, and rewarding oneself, this phenomenon represents a '360° Self-Investment' under the concept of 'Healthy Living & Sport Culture,' a new status symbol of success that has seamlessly integrated into modern lifestyles, whether through running, aerobics, or daily fitness routines," she said.

This 'wellness-driven lifestyle' manifests in various forms: from the surging popularity of Blokecore fashion (styling football jerseys with streetwear) and football-inspired makeup to football-watching viewings, gaming, and unique collectibles. This clearly reflects that today’s consumers are not merely purchasing products. They are buying into 'experiences and cultures' that align with their personal passions.

At the same time, consumers remain highly focused on 'Best Value' and are increasingly searching for worthwhile deals, particularly during this highly anticipated mid-year sale.

To address this challenges, it will elevate the shopping experience through a 360° omni-channel network that seamlessly bridges every touchpoint of Central and Robinson Department Stores across 74 provinces nationwide, Central Embassy, and online platforms. Moreover, it offers special discounts of up to 70%, alongside the exclusive promotion.

During the first five months of 2026, Central has witnessed continuous sales growth within the international tourist and expat segments. This momentum is particularly driven by visitors from China, Russia, Myanmar, the Middle East, and India, who show a strong preference for beauty products, Thai designer fashion, and Goods Goods items.

"We are highly confident that the 'Grand Grand Sale' will receive an overwhelming response from both Thai shoppers and international tourists, further solidifying our position as the country’s ultimate retail destination," Ms. Rvisra said.

Bonita Pui Yang Wu, Head of Corporate Marketing at Central Retail Corporation, said, "To navigate the challenging consumer spending environment anticipated in Q2 and Q3 amid ongoing economic uncertainty, Central Retail has once again joined forces with Central Pattana to launch its flagship annual promotional campaign, leveraging the strength of Central Retail’s ecosystem, spanning more than 3,000 retail and wholesale branches across all business groups in 63 provinces nationwide. With exclusive promotions packed with highly anticipated global events across both sports and music, the campaign is expected to significantly influence consumer spending behavior.
