CPN today opens its 2nd retail mall in Khon Kaen

Customers rushed to Central Khonkaen Campus for the first day of grand opening on May 20, with traffic has been more than some had hoped for. 

Central Khonkaen Campus was developed by Central Pattana Plc, the SET-listed retail and property developer, with an investment of 2.7 billion baht on over 30 rai of land.

Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Chief Marketing Officer for Central Pattana Plc, said that Central Khonkaen Campus is the 45th shopping mall by Central Pattana and the second shopping mall in Khon Kaen province. It has a Gross Building Area (GBA) of 62,000 square metres, located near Khon Kaen University and Srinagarind Hospital.

The Central Khonkaen Campus features 200 renowned brands, among the first branches of brands such as Shabu Baru Mini, The Steak & More, Pasta Ama, and Xventure, the first active park in the Northeast.

Other popular brands include Adidas Kids, Anta, Journal, Bonchon, Pepper Lunch, NOSE TEA, KOI Thé, Naisnow, Potato Corner, GAGA, One To Two, and more. Trendy brands for New Gen include Daddy & The Muscle, a vintage pop-style fashion brand; Wacky Willy, a popular Korean street fashion brand; Matchbox and Freak, multi-brand street fashion; and KIS.

 In addition, 24-hour Jetts Fitness is also available here among leading brands under Central Group including Tops, Supersports, Power Buy, B2S and Auto1.

Apart from a shopping center, the project also comprises of Khon Kaen’s first-ever PHYLL KHONKAEN, a GO! Hotel, an indoor garden, a co-working space and a pet-friendly zone, all seamlessly connected to cater to diverse lifestyles.

“Central Khonkaen Campus is the next-generation lifestyle destination powered by young minds and creativity, driving Khon Kaen toward 'The New Growth Capital of Isan,'" Dr. Nattakit said.

He adds that Khon Kaen is a major hub in northeastern Thailand that is attracting significant attention as it serves as a medical hub with 31 leading hospitals and an education hub. The province is also a home for 48 schools and nine international schools.

Khon Kaen has a total population of over 1.8 million, ranking 5th in Thailand. In 2024, Khon Kaen had a Gross Provincial Product (GPP) of 238.72 billion baht and a GPP per capita of 140,255 baht, ranking 2nd in the Northeast, with more than 760,000 being young people (Gen Y & Z), representing 42% of the total population (excluding the undocumented population).

This makes Khon Kaen a city brimming with young energy, creativity, and continuous economic growth and which is poised to become a future city where young people want to live, reflecting a growing direction similar to leading global cities driven by youth energy, the growth of university districts, and the establishment of a creative district.

The design of Central Khonkaen Campus reflects the city’s identity through the concept of ‘The Core of Khon Kaen’ by expressing three iconic elements: ‘Khaen – Kaen – Koon’ in a contemporary perspective.

Central Khonkaen Campus is also the first Central Pattana shopping center to use ‘Honest Materials’ revealing the genuine texture of the materials to convey simplicity yet powerful aesthetics. The young generation is the ‘core’ of the inspiration for the design.

The shopping center is divided into two highlight zones, including Campus Court and Campus Garden.

The land prices in Khon Kaen are considered an upside potential level when compared to other tourist or major economic cities.
The Real Estate Information Center (REIC) reveals that the Khon Kaen condominium market was valued at 5.57 billion baht in 2025, growing by 150% from 2022 (in just three years).

The company, therefore, launched PHYLL KHONKAEN, a 33-story condominium with 583 units located next to Central Khonkaen Campus, with a total value of 1.6 billion baht. The condo features a unique design, offering comprehensive facilities.

Northeastern region’s first GO! Hotel

Phoom Chirathivat, Head of Hotel Business for Central Pattana plc, said that GO! Hotel at Central Khonkaen Campus is to open to complement the Central Pattana mixed-use ecosystem, creating a seamless lifestyle, increasing customer traffic and extending guest stays.

GO! Hotel Central Khonkaen Campus is the first new hotel brand for the Northeast and the sixth branch under the GO! Hotel brand. The 6-story, 75-room pet-friendly hotel is positioned as the brand’s flagship hotel to cater to both Thai and international travelers in the future.

In the rest seven months of this year, more GO! Hotel will be opened in Nakhon Sawan, Chiangrai, Chiangmai and Ayutthaya with five more branches within 2027.

GO! The hotel currently operates a total of five branches, including GO! Hotel Bowin, GO! Hotel Banchang, GO! Hotel Si Racha, GO! Hotel Chonburi, and GO! Hotel Suvarnabhumi Airport.
